The OpenChain Project builds trust in open source by making open source license compliance simpler and more consistent. The OpenChain Specification defines a core set of requirements every quality compliance program must satisfy. The OpenChain Curriculum provides the educational foundation for open source processes and solutions, whilst meeting a key requirement of the OpenChain Specification. OpenChain Conformance allows organizations to display their adherence to these requirements. The result is that open source license compliance becomes more predictable, understandable and efficient for participants of the software supply chain.

Our Vision: A software supply chain where open source is delivered with trusted and consistent compliance information.

Our Mission: Establish requirements to achieve effective management of open source for software supply chain participants, such that the requirements and associated collateral are developed collaboratively and openly by representatives from the software supply chain, open source community, and academia.

The OpenChain Interviews

OpenChain has a vibrant global community and we like to ensure this is reflected clearly as people explore our project, our industry standard and our reference material. One way we do this is through an interview series that introduces administrators, lawyers, project leaders, technical experts and professional managers from around the world. We all have on thing in common: we are striving for excellence in technology, compliance and business processes.

Our work would not be possible without the support from our members.
