The OpenChain Project announces improved FAQs

SAN FRANCISCO, United States, November 28, 2017 — The OpenChain Project has three pillars supported by dedicated work teams. The OpenChain Specification defines a core set of requirements every quality compliance program must satisfy. OpenChain Conformance allows organizations to display their adherence to these requirements. The OpenChain Curriculum provides the educational foundation for open source processes and solutions, while meeting a key requirement of the OpenChain Specification. The result is that open source license compliance becomes more predictable, understandable, and efficient for all participants in the software supply chain. Today we are announcing that each Work Team will be supported by distinct, improved FAQs.

“The reorganization of the frequently asked questions for the OpenChain Project is laying a foundation for greater clarity and ease of translation,” says Shane Coughlan, OpenChain Project Director. “As with other recent releases we are laying the groundwork for great things in 2018. Thanks to the hard work of our volunteer community we are taking great strides towards streamlining broad adoption.”

The OpenChain Project identifies key recommended processes for effective open source management. The project builds trust in open source by making open source license compliance simpler and more consistent.
